Description

Primary Purpose:

Place cheese appropriately in cure rooms, and ensure cheese is flipped and rotated as needed

 

Shift Schedule:

 6A-6P, Work 3-4 days per week, every other weekend required

Rotation: Week 1 = Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat; Week 2 = Sun, Wed, Thurs   

 

Responsibilities:

-      Utilizing a forklift and skyjack place cheese in cure rooms, determining the best location for each type of cheese

-      Ensure cheese is rotated and flipped as needed

-      Determine when cheese is ready for final testing

-      Remove cheese from cure room once it’s been properly cured and is ready for the next phase of the production process

-      Assist with re-salting and de-salting cheese when needed

-      Complete sanitation tasks as required

Requirements

Education, Experience, Qualities and Skills Required:

-      High school Diploma

-      Forklift experience is a plus

-      Able to write legibly, do simple math, read and complete daily paperwork

-      Basic computer skills

-      Excellent communication

-      Attention to detail

-      Dependable with a strong work ethic

-      Positive attitude

-      Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision

-      Team Player

-      High level of accuracy in work

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

-      Work environment is physical and involves continuous lifting of 25-50 lbs.  Temperature ranges from 50-55 degrees in the cure rooms.  Must be able to bend, squat and twist.   Must be able to stand for a full 8-12 hour shift.  Must be comfortable with heights.
